Prestige Management Group signs USA Softball player of the year Nija Canady
DALLAS, TEXAS (Jun 4, 2024) - Stanford pitcher Nija Canady has signed with Prestige Management Group for management and advising services.
Described by Tennessee star pitcher Monica Abbott as “the Caitlin Clark of Softball,” Nija Canady needs no further introduction. The Topeka, KS native has cemented herself as the best pitcher in the country, earning National Freshman of the Year honors in 2023, Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year, leading the nation in ERA and strikeouts, and becoming USA Softball’s Collegiate Player of the Year in just two years. In high school, she was also named Gatorade Player of the Year during her Junior and Senior campaigns, leading her team to back-to-back state titles. One of college softball's most prolific athletes, Nija’s on-field play is only matched by her personality and positive attitude off the field. Canady enters her second Women's College World Series in as many years May 30 with two years of eligibility remaining.
“Nija is the epitome of what an All American looks like. Her dedication to her craft, her leadership, and high character is a direct reflection of all her accomplishments,” said Rashad Phillips, PMG Founder and President. “A player of this magnitude doesn’t come around a lot so we’re excited to work alongside her as she continues her quest to become one of the best college softball pitchers of all time.”
With a mission to help emerging athletes maximize their potential, Prestige Management Group was launched November 2023 by sports execs Rashad Phillips, Derrick Shelby, and Romy Glazer. Other athletes represented by PMG include Georgia Tech’s Javian McCollum, Cincinnati’s Jizzle James, high school basketball’s #4-ranked prospect Divine Bourrage, McDonald’s All-American Imari Berry, Wisconsin’s Xavier Amos, and UCLA’s Eric Dailey Jr.
