VIVIANA MARTINEZ IS AN ELECTRIC ATHLETE PLAYING FOR the Texas Longhorns AS SHORTSTOP AND 2nd BASEMAN.
Known for her dynamic presence on the field and impressive performances at the plate, Viviana Martinez is an exceptional shortstop and 2nd baseman for the Texas Longhorns. A native of Tolleson, Arizona, Martinez quickly made her mark in collegiate softball as a freshman in 2023. She was named to the All-Big 12 Freshman Team and set a program record for the most RBIs by a first-year player, with 52 in a single season.
Before joining Texas, Martinez was a highly-touted recruit, ranked as the No. 1 infielder and No. 3 overall player in the Extra Innings Softball Class of 2022 rankings. She also earned accolades such as the 2019 Southwest Region Player of the Year and was a standout player for the Arizona Storm National-Mathis travel ball team.
Martinez continued to shine in her sophomore year, delivering clutch performances that have propelled the Longhorns to key victories, including a dominant showing in the 2023 Women's College World Series. In addition to her collegiate success, she represented Team USA in the 2023 Japan All-Star Series, further establishing herself as a rising star in the sport.
