Jalen has quickly established himself as a game changing player with in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, stepping into the starting role as a redshirt freshman and leading the team to crucial victories with his blend of leadership, accurate arm, IQ, and poise which has turned the heads of fans and scouts alike.

During his inaugural season, the 6'1", 200 pound Woods showcased remarkable maturity and precision, boasting a 57.6% completion rate, playing a key role in a 5OT thriller victory over Bethune-Cookman, and most notably leading the Jaguars to a 31-9 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, securing the team’s ninth SWAC West Division title. His performance in this game earned him the Player of the Game title, as he threw for over 200 yards and added a touchdown to his stat line. 

From guiding the Jaguars through intense overtime battles to showcasing his talent in critical games, Jalen is celebrated for his coolness under pressure, managing to lead the team with smart decisions and arm talent, emerging from a quarterback committee to bona-fide starter.
