DIVINE BOURRAGE, FIVE STAR HIGH SCHOOL JUNIOR, SIGNS MARKETING PARTNERSHIP WITH MONEYBALL SPORTSWEAR
DAVENPORT, IOWA (Dec 8, 2023) - High School Junior Divine Bourrage has signed a marketing partnership with Moneyball Sportswear, a Lansing, Michigan-based sportswear brand, making her one of the first female athletes in the High School Class of 2025 to capitalize on her NIL rights.
The deal comes as Bourrage begins the regular season at North Davenport High School (IA), having risen to ESPNW’s #9-ranked overall prospect in her class over the Summer. She joins an small, elite class of current high school juniors who have signed NIL deals, including Darryn Peterson (Boys Basketball, Huntington Prep), Bryce James (Boys Basketball, Sierra Canyon) Mia and Mya Pauldo (Girls Basketball, Morris Catholic), and Aaliyah Crump (Girls Basketball, Minnetonka). Bourrage is represented by Prestige Management Group.
A member of the Des Moines Register's 2023-24 preseason All-Iowa First Team, Bourrage was named first-team in Nike’s EYBL by multiple publications on the AAU circuit, where she formerly played for the All Iowa Attack - the same team that counts Iowa standout Caitlin Clark as an alum. She currently holds more than 20 offers from universities that include the University of Iowa, Miami, Tennessee, Baylor, Kentucky, Florida and Kansas, among others.
Unlike college where any NCAA athlete can be compensated for promoting a product with their name, image, or likeness, marketing partnerships with high school athletes continues to be governed at the state level, making it an emerging opportunity for brands. Currently, 34 local athletic associations now allow student-athletes to participate in NIL deals without forfeiting the ability to play high school sports. Bourrage’s marketing partnership, in Iowa, is governed under the guidance of the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union (IGHSAU) who approved NIL activity in August of 2022, ahead of other powerhouse high school sports states including Georgia (October 2023). Florida, Ohio and Texas still prohibit NIL activity by high schoolers.
“The groundswell of support for Divine has been tremendous,” said Rashad Phillips, Founder of PMG. “We’ve had our heads down, with a simple goal; aligning her with brands that can see her potential – when we found out that this partnership with Moneyball was one of the firsts for a female athlete in the Class of 2025, we were thrilled. Leave it to Dez and the team at Moneyball to be trailblazers with their foresight and vision to associate themselves with Divine.”
With a mission to help emerging athletes maximize their potential, Prestige Management Group was launched in November by sports execs Rashad Phillips, Derrick Shelby, and Romy Glazer. Other athletes represented by PMG include Oklahoma’s Javian McCollum and Cincinnati’s Jizzle James.
